Sense and Sensibility

1.      What thoughts or associations does the reading inspire within you?

My answer:

I like all of thought of Elinor. She is very wise and very patient to bitter situation which she is experience with her family. And I admire for her when she intend to assist engagement who is she loves to be engaged with others, that its own friend. She can hide secret when Lusi designedly advise its engagement with Edward who is of Elinor loved. She patient to so await news of Edward and of Lusi do get married even she very fear as respects to that happened. And at the time of there the news that Lusi married with Ferrar’s family, Elinor is very beaten which is Edward have lose from her life forever. But in this final novel its very funny in fact Lusi marry with Edward’s brother is Robert Ferrar. And that thing make Elinor is very happy and they don’t long to marry even though they haven’t anything for their live and I like with patience of colonel in face of ugly behavior of Marriane. Basically, he is very accepting if Marriane do not like him because difference of age among them very far. Colonel is very comprehending. But when Marianne disappointed by Willoughby as well as previous Willoughby have made to destroy its foster child of Mrs.William. Become colonel come visiting Marriane and amuse her and he succeed do Marianne to marry because disappointed Marriane also with mannerism of Willoughby which is neglected of Mrs.William first. And relation which is my inspiration that is conduct of between Edward and Elinor which have time to be estranged by engagement of Lusi. And I like him attitude which dare to confess to love Elinor and will do marry her.

2.      What do you now think or believe that you did not think or believe before you read this novel?

My answer:

Yes, I think and I believe that its good novel ever I read. The story gives me inspiration for be patient to decide something and to have a stance open – minded to bliss of others. Although, it make us hurt more. Actually, I can say if Mrs. Dashwood family is lucky family because all of her daughter to marry with good person. I don’t believe before if love between Elinor and Edward became true. I don’t believe they can be together after several years disparate because Edward and Lusi engagement. But in the last novel, in fact, Robert marries Lusi. I am as reader feels surprising. Because Robert didn’t retell if he love Lusi or Lusi love Robert. But finally, they married. I think Robert marry Lusi just for her wealth and position because Robert’s attitude is same with his sister fanny and his mother Mrs. Ferrars. And I am also been motivated by Elinor and Edward for waiting someone who i loves several years ago. Although, he and me be separated by distance. May, we can’t see each others. But, I hope my love will came true as like Elinor Loves.

3.      What significance does the reading have for you personally?

My answer:

Most of Elinor as who is I like. It’s make good influence for me as single girl. That love’s power can be combining of two hearts even several years. It’s wonderful love. The good love story than Romeo and Juliet. And be making a good sister in family.

4.      Note when you get bogged down in your reading, lose track of what the author is saying, and feel the author has lost you. How did you get over your impediments to reading and understanding?

My answer:

I am only reading on of till finish. So that I get missing understanding in chapter before which because I am not comprehend that’s content. But, generally I comprehend at all. And interest of me emerge when have reached moment story climax of Willoughby come near and Marianne of Elinor know that Edward do get married with its friend of Lusi. I feel pity with their chance in the early story for no bliss which they earn from what they want. Particularly now they are only living in cheap and small house though initially life of them very luxuriant. But because greed of step brother is John, which do not wish to divide estate of inheritance because male more proper to get heritage than female and that make their life become more complex and they have to remain far from its mansion in Norland Park going to Barton Park. And this story is happy ending.

5.      When were you successful in comprehending and enjoying what you read? What parts of the reading were easy? Satisfying?

My answer:

I think, I can comprehend at all but I have several chapters to easier comprehending and that chapter, i.e.:

-          Chapter 18 this chapter tells about Edward come to Elinor house in Barton Park. Elinor is very happy but she has noticed from her sister that Edward wearing a ring and he is wearing lock in his hair and in fact, that’s ring from another girl but in this chapter not mentioned that ring from lLusi her friend.

-          Chapter 22 this chapter tells about a ring who is used by Edward that from Lusi her friend. She is sad, why Edward don’t tell it to her. And this chapter tells if Edward comes to Plymouth first Lusi home’s before to Barton or to Elinor homes.

-          Chapter 28 this chapter tells about Willoughby and Marianne begin separated because before this chapter Marianne and Willoughby announced very closer and Marianne think he loves her and she love him too. But in this chapter Marriane feel confuse because he avoid her in the Lady Middleton party’s.

And before Marriane to London, she writes a letter to Willoughby but he doesn’t answer her letter.

-          Chapter 29 this chapter tells about the letter‘s Marriane and she get the answer of her letter. The content of her letter it’s very surprising and makes her weak. She tells to Elinor that she want go home immediately.

-          Chapter 48 in this chapter tells about the news of wedding Ferrar’s family. Elinor thinks its Edward wedding but in fact its Robert wedding. Elinor is very happy to hear that and they are married too.

I think I like the chapter 48 because I like Elinor so much than Marriane.

6.      What are the good and bad points of this novel? How could it be improved?

My answer:

Good Point:

-          Elinor can be a good daughter, good sister, and good person.

-          Love can be combine two heart.

-          The kindness will be combine two heart.

-          Marriane become more kindness after knowing Colonel deeper.

-          Because Willoughby case, Marriane and Elinor make them good relationship as good sister.

Bad Point

-          Gender is significant in that period to get inheritance.

-          Worse person like Fanny, Robert, Willoughby, Mrs. Ferrars, John Dashwood and Lucy. They are more like wealth than anything includes true love.

-          And they are having bad attitude like arrogant, miserly, and fanny didn’t like Mrs. Dashwood and her daughter.

But, in the last chapter or in the end of story Ferrar’s family can accept Elinor as their family. And Mrs. Dashwood hopes to become colonel as a son in law is come true. Colonel is Marriane husbands. Actually, this novel has to continue in other I know Elinor and Edward live after marriage and Marriane and Colonel Lives’ too. It’s very interesting.

7.      How important is family to individual happiness in this novel?

My answer:

Its can able to seen at moment Elinor and Marriane has love for Edward. They are having races for get Edward Love. But, Edward has love for Elinor only. But, Edward didn’t to show his feeling to Elinor until they moved to Barton Park. And Marriane get new love. But, Elinor can’t forbid them (Marriane and Willoughby). Although, Elinor can’t believe Willoughby as full as she can. Elinor didn’t want make hurt of heart Marriane despite in the beginning chapter Marrianae defeated relationship between Elinor and Edward. It makes Elinor to be sad. And at moment, Marriane hurtled by Willoughby, Elinor always inside of her to help her didn’t frustration. And Elinor tells about kindness of Colonel to her. So, Mrs. Dashwood Family is an example of good Family which is they are helping each other and never teach bad thing.
